From the principal
Mrs. Le-Vern Marnce
As the Principal and RCA, my purpose or goal is to serve. I do not take this role lightly, and I can only learn from the best servant there ever was. Which is Jesus Christ. I know that as I serve the staff, students, board and parents, the same attitude will flow through the whole school.
Our world has become self-centred, and we need to raise Christians who will strive to please God and not man. Never compromising and going against God’s word.

Our Vision statement
- The vision of Rivermead Christian Academy is to be planting and watering truth in children for an eternal harvest, based on 1 Corinthians 3:6.
- The Mission of the School is to establish a Christian School as a ministry of the First Baptist Church, Kokstad, and for the Kokstad community.
- Our one chief goal is to reach children with the gospel. Our desire is to minister to all children and their parents and to be a positive impact in our community. Rivermead Christian Academy does not seek to be fancy or elite, rather, we want to be able to accept every child who applies here, regardless of socio-economic background.
- Our target group of learners from the community also includes those with either learning gaps that need bridging or barriers to learning that might require a slightly modified approach to ensure that learning takes place. We seek to give children from a poorer socio-economic background a chance of getting a good education.
- We seek to be responsible for helping and uplifting those children who have been forgotten or cast out by other schools and society. We wish to serve the broken and disheartened youth, with discretion, by providing full or partial bursaries for studies, as well as focusing on providing love and acceptance to all learners.
- We have a commitment to excellence and hold our staff and learners to constantly be striving to improve in all areas of their lives, academically and socially.
- Our curriculum while being in line with what is required by law, needs to have content adapted to be in line with the teachings of the Bible. The Bible is our authority and as such these beliefs and doctrines must inform and guide every practice of our school.
- We seek to pay our staff a fair wage and we want them to be fulfilled and enriched by their being employed by Rivermead.
